Calvary Kids' Bible Club (CKBC) is a club program for children ages 4 through sixth grade. CKBC meets on Wednesday nights from September through May of each year from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Our emphasis is on discipleship and growing in the Lord. Our theme verse is 2 Peter 3:18, "…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
The children participate in worship, teaching, games, crafts, Bible memory time, and have an opportunity to earn several "merit" patches throughout the year. They receive a workbook to work on their verses throughout the week. There are also special projects relating to missions, service, and respect that the children do throughout the year to help foster the children's growth in the Lord. We also have several activities where families can come together for a great time.
To better help parents reinforce the lessons and memory verses at home, we have the children work on memorizing for Wednesday nights the same verse they are given the previous Sunday morning. The lesson for Wednesday is different than Sunday's lesson, but tied to the same theme. This way we are simply reinforcing the truths taught on Sunday morning on Wednesday night. This gives us more opportunities to help children memorize the verses, make application of the scriptures to their lives, and assist parents in the discipling of their children.
