Psalms 143:8

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.”

Continuing Instant In Prayer. – F. B. Meyer

“…continuing instant in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Stonewall Jackson was once asked what he meant when he used the expression “instant in prayer.” He replied, “I will give you my idea of an illustration, if you will allow it, and not think I am setting myself as a model for others” on being assured that there would be no misjudgment, he went on to say: “I have so fixed the habit in my own mind that I never raise a glass of water to my lips without a moment’s asking God’s blessing. I never seal a letter without putting a word of prayer under the seal. I never take a letter from the post without a brief sending of my thoughts heavenward. I never change my classes without a minute’s petition on the cadets who go out and those who come in.” “And don’t you sometimes forget this?” “I think I can say that I scarcely do; the habit has become almost as fixed as breathing.”

And if this was the habit of the servant, how much more of the Master? In the Gospels we are frequently told of His heavenward look: “…looking up to heaven, He blessed…” (Matthew 14:19). It was as though He were always looking up for His Father’s smile, direction, and benediction; so that He could be assured that what He was engaged in was in the line of His Father’s purpose, and that He might gain the needed power to act and wisdom to speak.

It is only thus that we shall be able to meet the hunger of our times. Our slender stores will not feed so great a multitude. But if we bring them to Him, and place them in His hands, and look up to heaven for His enablement, we shall break and break again until all be filled. But this habit can only be maintained by those who go into the mountain of prolonged fellowship.

COVID-19 Crisis Prayer – Pastor Mike

Today’s Prayer

Psalm 67

Today’s Subject: Agriculture

God’s Way: Pray the Lord would protect the workers on the farms and ranches from illness and injury. That all food processors would be able to provide a safe and efficient working environment that would produce a safe food supply. For the truck drivers to be kept healthy and well as they transport the food products to the processors as well as the distribution warehouses. May they be able work efficiently so to minimize their driving hours each day. That the grocers and restaurants be able to provide a clean and safe place to market and serve food. May their employees be able to work in a safe environment within hours that do not fatigue or encourage accidents. May they be able to serve customers with grace and peace. Pray for the store thefts will stop and that all needed products will be found on the shelves.

God’s Salvation:  Pray that the Lord would be called upon to provide all necessities for life. May all people look to Him and recognize His hand in the provision of food. Pray that everyone will realize Jesus is the bread of life. And, that whoever comes to Him will never hunger, and all who believe in Jesus will never thirst. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself in this time of trial. Pray that people will understand that God is our ultimate provider and sustainer. May all people look to the Lord for hope and peace.

God’s Praise:  Praise the Lord for His creation and provision for all. Thank Him for His desire to fill our needs and bless us with an abundance. Glorify Him for the great variety of ways He provides for us and blesses us. Honor Him for the wisdom and giftings that He gives to people that produce and provide for our needs.

“God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your Way may be known on earth, Your Salvation among the nations.  Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You” Psalm 67: 1-3
